Bad network install?

Hi,
We recently changed over from Novell to Windows. In doing that, we had to copy all the files for network installations of ACAD 2000 to another server.

I can install over the network fine in one office, but when I go to a office that hits over the WAN, Autocad never gets beyond the splash screen. I installed both SP1 and SP2, and copied adesksys.dll to the ACAD2000 folder too.

Client machines are running Windows 2000. The computers ran Autocad 2000 before the change over. (Part of the changeover was reformatting the client machines and re-installing all the software.)

What else can I do?

Several things:

  1. If running the network version of AutoCAD 2000 on
W2K you will need the newer ADSKSYS.DLL avaliable from our downloads
    site.  See

  2. You should never copy an AutoCAD deployment image
to another location.  If you change servers or directory structure you
should create new deployment images using the Network Setup Wizard located on
your AutoCAD CD in the \netsetup folder

  3. You may need to set ACADSERVER to resolve to a
    license server.  See
