AutoCAD lt 2013 on Windows 8 - command line stops working

I have uninstalled AutoCAD lt 2013 twice now in hopes that the command line will work.  Each time it works for a while and then freezes up again. I've tried just restarting the computer and just AutoCAD. HELP I really have had a hard time with Windows 8 but this is getting ridiculous.  Thanks in advance.

What does 'freezes up' mean for the commandline? Please elaborate.
Is LT2013 fully patched and unpdated? Required for Win8 compatibility.

"Freeze up" means...when I can't type in the command line and can only
scroll in and out with the mouse. This requires me to ctl-alt-del to get
out of AutoCAD LT. I've updated with the 2 latest service paks...is there
something specific for Windows 8? I didn't see it.
