Hello to everyone:
I am having a bit of a problem installing MDT 2008 - 64bit onto Window 7 Pro. - 64bit. The initial install includes both Inventor and MDT but only the Inventor piece got installed and the MDT fails. When I went in just to install the MDT separately, it's the same error on the log. From what I'm seeing, when it attempts to install the Windows Media 9.5 app, it can not and it ends abruptly and ends the install. At the end, it tells you to review the log for additional error. I've searched for quite a bit on the Knowledgebase and discussion forum for similar problems but no avail. When I go to install the Windows Media manually under the media at \support\WMF\wmfdist64.exe, I get a Setup Error "Not enough storage is available to process this command". I'm logged in as Admin on workstation, the computer has a Xeon 2.67Ghz processor with 6Gb RAM and 6Gb swap file. The Temp directory has been emptied every install. Anti-virus is also disabled during install. Oddly enough, when I install MDT 2007, it installs just fine however, I do not wish to go backwards. The 32bit install works fine on Win 7 - 32bit system from the same media. Probably irrelevant but we're using a flex license (network version).
I've done it from the DVD media and from a shared folder with the media copied over, same result. Below is the error from the Inventor Log:

Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thank you.
AutoCAD MDT is not supported for Windows 7. Also, the 1603 error is a common but there is no root cause. I would try this:
It might be a registry size limit.
Hi David,
Thanks for the link. Although it doesn't appear to be the Visual C++ redist install that's erroring out as the log points out that it's successful, however I did resize the registry key and tried reinstalling, but issue still exist. The problem points to failing to install Windows Media Format 9.5, Windows 7 has version 11 installed. I am able to get MDT 2007 to install and work, so I'm confused why an older version will work over a newer verion? I would assume neither will work if that is the case?
