Asking for ACCURATE instructions on installing AutoDesk Inventor from Disk

We need accurate instructions on installing AutoDesk Inventor 2010 from the 6 DVD set. We transferred each DVD to a separate folder on a hard drive, carefully naming each folder the exact name of the DVD disk (INVDISK1, etc).

We ran a bit compare program on all these 18+ gigs of data to make sure that the disk copies were faithful, and they were.

We then attempted to start the installer from INVDISK1 area and it ran okay until it looked for a file from the 2nd folder INVDISK2. BUT IT FAILED.

It failed because the msi installer was looking for the file on the INVDISK1 area, not INVDISK2.

So we need someone at AutoDesk to accurately tell us how to combine all these files and folders into one massive folder and then install.

We have lost 3 days time of 2 engineers here and the frustration level has mounted to high levels.

Thanks for helping us out.

Randall

Douglas:

We did copy all the files into one folder and were able to successfully install after that.

Activating the product turned out to be another struggle, but after phone calls to both the licensing people at Acad and the reseller, we were finally able to get the product activations codes and serial numbers all straightened out and Autodesk Inventor 2010 working.
