According to autodesk TS18368 the only os's that are supported for installing adlm are
w95
w98
nt4w
nt4s

I've not tried it on w2k but a response to a post of mine back in November implied that it
should work. I don't know if TS18368 is old and incorrect of still up todate.

sorry I'm not more help.

Thank You for your comments. Hope some one from AutoDESK is seeing this and
can confirm yes or no about ADLM and Windows 2000

I am running the 2000i adlm on a w2k pro machine, I haven't authorized it
yet but the server code is stable. Just so you know it can work. can you
ping and be pinged by name and IP?

Paul,

Just for Information TS 18368 is out of date. When you installed were you
logged in as Administrator ? Also, will the ADLM Admin application not run
at all or do you get the dialog with the host name etc ?

I was logged in as administrator
and
a "skeleton" dialog box opens it pauses for about 5 seconds then another
dialog box opens with the error message "can't generate server code. please
enter manually" once i ok that box the whole
admin application shuts down

Paul,
Are you running AdLM Admin on the license server or on a remote system? You
must run AdLM Admin on the system AdLM is to run on.

If you are running AdLM Admin locally, here are a few other things to look
at:
Reapply the service pack and try again
If the above does not help, get the latest driver for your network adapter
from the manufacturer, remove the TCP/IP protocol, apply the new driver,
install and configure TCP/IP and reinstall the service pack again.

Solved my ADLM on Win2000

01-10-2001 01:10 AM in reply to: *Johnson, Paul
I had unchecked "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks"

per Scott's Suggestion
You you need to enable file sharing, and the Administrator needs to log in
and have a profile in order to store the ADLM info correctly in the
registry.

I enabled "File and Print sharing" and IT WORKS !!!!!!!
