ACAD 2002 on XP with FlexLM

Have just added two workstations to our network both running XP.

2002 is installed but appears to be unable to find the licence server (installed on win2k server) so runs in single user mode and then expires, asking for an authorisation key.

The older NT4 machines are running ACARD 2002 quite happily and are talking to the licence server.

Has anyone got any ideas as to why the XP machines cannot see the FlexLM??

Cheers

Chris

Same subnet? Is the network pure TCP/IP? Can you ping in both directions by
name and IP? Is the license server statically assigned?

OK, that's my quick checklist. You'll have to wait for a guru if it's more
than that...(Jason Martin, where are you????)

I'd have agree with James here, in thinking that you've got something
irregular in your networking configuration. I've got FlexLM versions of
Autodesk Land Development running on 2 XP machines without problems.

Sorry guys

All network appears OK, can ping from both ends.

The licence server reports that only two of five licences are used.

Hope this helps

Hi Chris -

You indicated that the XP machines run in single user mode?? If you did a
network deploy to these machines they shouldn't have ever run in single user
mode. The way the network install works is that if there is a network
license you get it. If there isn't you don't run. You don't get the 15 day
trial.

It sounds like the install was done from the CD rather than from the network
image. Is there a licpath.lic file in the autocad2002 folder? If not it
sounds like the installation was done incorrectly, and that you will need to
uninstall / re-install.
