3DS Max 9 and Windows 7

I have installed 3DS Max 9 on Windows 7 and an error is coming up that states: "DLL <C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Maz 9\stdplugs\DxPlugins\DxDDS.bmi> failed to initialize. Error Code 998 - Invalid access to memory"

 

Is 3DS max 9 copmpatible with windows 7 and if it is, it looks like it is a Direct X issue.

Unfortunately 3DS Max 9 is not supported on Windows 7.
