3Ds Max 2014 Won't Install on Windows 8.1 - Help Appreciated!

Hey Forum!, Stuey here,

I've got a liecence for educational use of 3DS Max, however,
during the installation on my windows 8.1 things start to go wrong and I'm not entirely sure why,

I've got all .NET versions installed and all system requirement
 I've attached the installation Log, as to what might be going wrong?

Would really appreciate some help on the situation so I can progress with course work,

I'm assuming the machine is 64-bit. Are you running with admin privileges? From the log, some of the prerequisites such as Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable (x64) are failing to install.

I have been having the same problem, from what ive been told it is the compatibility issue with Windows 8.1 as 2015 Alias can be dowloaded for student versions.

See if the info here helps. It says it's for Inventor but is applicable to most products.
