Thanks for the Link Cory! Do Dual processors help? They sure do.
The dual processors can help in the intensive "number crunching" of complex
designs. Some specific areas that "Dualies" help is in the creation of
embedded or embossed part/text extrusion. Dual processors can cut the
waiting time in half for design extrusions like this, as well as providing
more "horsepower" for increasingly complex splines and curve rendering. Dual
processors can reduce development time by making you more efficient, not to
mention more capable by allowing you to be more creative without hardware
limitations.
For example, we have a customer that was using a single 1.8 Ghz Pentium 4
for rendering an assembly with almost a thousand parts. His working file
size was 800 Megabytes. He was averaging 0.1 frame per seconds, and was
unable to work in anything other than wireframe. He was also experiencing
eye strain, as well as frustration! With the AutoComp, he was averaging 30
frames per second with the 800 Megabyte model, in full texture mode! If you
would like to ask him personally about his AutoComp experience, let me know,
I can arrange it.
If you want the best-bang-for-your-buck, look no further than the AutoComp.
It has been built with components that are right on the price grade before
the price gets exponential. Dual AMD MP processors offer superior
performance over Intel Xeon CPUs Megahertz for Megahertz. RAID IDE drives
offer near-SCSI performance, while Geforce 4 Ti4600 with SoftQuadro drivers
give virtually identical performance to Quadro cards. We are constantly
improving our design and tweaking it with the right drivers to maximize
performance. Call or email me to see what we can do for you!
