ADR installation fails

Trying to install ADR on Windows 5.1 sp2. The installation fails with Visual Studio 2008 C++ Runtime (0x2: Failed downloading component.) Any ideas?

Hi,

Sorry you are having problems installing ADR 2010.

Here are step by step instructions for installing ADR when installing the components fails.

I hope this helps get ADR 2010 installed on your system.

I followed the instructions and installed as listed below. It now fails with "The following failed to install: Autodesk Design Review 2010 (0x2: Failed downloading component.)"

ADR requires:
VC++ 2005 sp1
VC++ 2008 sp1
.Net 3.5 sp1

Hi,

Did you download the ADR install file, save it on your hard drive, then run it from your hard drive?

I am going to put a link below where you can find different installation files on our website. On this page you will see two options for downloading the program. You want to choose the 'EXE' option. This will then download the entire program as well as all other files that it needs to run. This includes things like the proper version of .Net Framework and other necessary files. It is a large download, but I think it may be the best way for you to make sure you have all the correct files.

I have the same issue installing ADR2010 and even ADR2011. I tried the link you posted but it is no more online.

Is it possible that that install option is online again?

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this issue.

Please download and install the Visual Studio 2008 C++ Runtime manually from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2051a0c1-c9b5-4b0a-a8f5-770a...

Then try install ADR again.

Hope that this helps.

I continued to have difficulty downloading and installing individual components, but then I found this post regarding downloading and installing the full package which worked perfectly for me and others:

This should link you to a 724MB download of the bundle.  I also ran a .exe not a .msi.  Good Luck! Let us know if it works for you as well.
