NL Hinges and Starting Case.

Hi everyone,

is it possible to set a starting case for a non-linear analysis (due the presence of non-linear hinges)?

I have defined  in the analysis type->structure type a starting case but it seems that this doesn't change anything.

I would expect in the first increment of analysis to see the influnece of the starting case loading.

Thank you.

Hello,

You have made a mistake in the list of load cases for which the first load case should be the starting one. It should be case 2 instead of 1.

Except of this mistake there is also an issue in 2014  version concerning no updating the solver about modifications concerning starting case if Analysis Type window is not re-opened. The workaround is to modify the list of cases, close Analysis Type window, open Analysis Type window again and run analysis. Issue registered to be fixed.

The attached screen capture shows the list of cases which should be corrected by you and the change of loads and reactions in case 2 resulting from this modification.

I have attached the corrected model too.

Just as notice, in case of using Pushover analysis.

Incrementing a load case starting from results of some other load case doesn't work for Pushover analysis. Such a procedure can be done only when "Incremental" nethod of non-linear analysis is used. It does not work in such way (in this case loads of both load cases are incremented together) when "Arc-length" method is used - and this method is used in Pushover analysis.

Dear Pawel, has this issue been fixed in the new version?
