changing plot styles

I am unable to change plot styles and I can't figure out why. I've attached a screen shot of the window that comes up: while I am able to scroll to different styles than acadlt.ctb- the one displayed- there is no prompt to make it change to a new one.

please help

thanx

Hi,

With this dialog you can only create or edit plot style table files, but not change plot style in model/layout.

You can set plot style via Properties palette:

or via Page Setup dialog:

I can get the linework in paper space to print according to the monochrome.ctb, but the linework in model space (viewport) still prints according to layers. I've checked my ctb file for errors, but found nothing. The "plot style table" option is monochrome, but the "plot style" option only offers "ByColor". What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

Please check layers and objects color (if any) in viewport- they all should be within first 255 AutoCAD colors, but not True color. If they're True color, then them will print with color regardless of CTB settings.

Hi there,

Cannot seem to get my plot styles scroll down to work when  printing. See attached image. Continually has exclamation mark and the 'Reveal in finder' used to work and now does not. Help needed and appreciated...

Hi,

AutoCAD cannot find plot style saved in the drawing database, so you need to find this plot style an put it the Plot styles folder.
If you got this file from other person, than ask him (her) about this plot style file.

Hi There,

I have reinstalled Autocad. I have installed all the patches and updates.
Our other MAC, with same Autocad version is fine. The plot styles are all loaded under a plotter style folder which I just don't have .... and cannot locate in my hard drive. It is like it is not making this link when it installs Autocad..
This is the window that shows when I try to find plot styles.

Any help appreciated.

You can also put Plot Style Table files to the custom location (folder) which you can add in AutoCAD Preferenses. Application tab, then on the right locate "Printer Support File Path" mode, expand it, select "Plot Style Table Search Path" and use "+" button to add folder where you put CTB files.

Hi again,

Another problem, just when I thought all was solved.
Now the ctb is located correctly and the page set up finds it.
However the plot preview is still showing coloured lines; in other words it is not applying the plot style ctb to the sheets.

I cannot get the 'Reveal in finder' to work under the 'plot style table dialog box'. It just shows a question mark.
help appreciated,
J

@I cannot understand: two lines above you wrote:

Why you desided that ctb file is licated correctly if it still has question mark?

Where you see question mark?

Could you please elaborate? Maybe attach screenshot...

In addition - the "colorized" plot output can be cased by two other reasons:

- you are using Visual style different from 2D Wireframe inside viewports in the Layout

- you have objects in your drawing with True colors assigned - plot style table works only for colors from 1 to 255 (AutoCAD Color Model)
