The new changes is very good for making off page connection. However, i notice one problem, after the connector is connected, if i assign the tag for the line (change a size or line number), it will be disconnected.
it is intended that this happens, see manual "To Work with off-page connectors and line groups".
I have a project with 160 drawings converted to 2014.
OPC does not work, after 45 min "Connect To" manual cancelled!
The had the same problem a number of version ago, i think AutoCAD P&ID 2009.
Thanks for the info, but this is crazy, why Autodesk intend it to be disconnected? What if i were to assign the tag later in the project? And i'm not reassigning it to a new group, i just want to resize the line.
Editing using properties palette seems to not disconnect the connector (tag will update). But updating Line Number is not possible. Data Manager should work.. but this is very confusing to the users..
I upgraded to Plant 3d and I am having problem with Offpage connector.
How can I get remove the red symbol in the picture which turns to green when it is connected to another drawing.
in 2013 version when I ask him to connect to another P&ID he brings me to connectors now they bring you to a list. Can I customise it?
Why it is not acquiring the Pipe service while I am assigning one to it.
From what I am seeing, it seems that they are no longer pulling sizes, specs, or to/from info across sheets. Haven't tested with line number, but it seems a lot of functionality was lost with the change.
As long as I'm not using Assign Tag dialog to change any information, i think the connection should not lost. This means I will have to use Edit Pipe Line Group, Properties, and Data Manager to change any infomation.
I'll probably wait for sometime before upgrading it in my company.
We are experiancing a similar problem here, when we attempt to connect an OPC the program freezes for 7 to 8 minutes (sometimes much longer..) before everthing resumes and the dialog window pops up.
This is on a relatively small project, recently upgraded to 2014. Project files are stored on a local shared drive.
You say "relatively small project" what do you mean by this?
How many OPC's are in the project?
We have 1320 OPC's, they don't work in P&ID2014!
When I want to change then or make a new connection, I cancelled the program after 45 min waiting for reponce.
This is not workable!
The OPC's works fine within P&ID2013, we have to wait for a solution from Autodesk before we can imigrate to P&ID2014.
Hot Fix from Autodesk, please. We have customers waiting to migrate to a new release...
