AMSYMSCALE use

I posted another inquire titled "AMSYMSCALE and LTSCALE".   Currently that ticket is being reviewed by AutoDesk support.    While I wait, I'm interested to know if anyone else actually uses the AMSYMSCALE and if they have had or know of any trouble using in AC2012 Mechanical.   I do understand it changes the scale of mechanical objects (a list of which ones is not being found) via the drafting standard, this is for model space objects.  Your discussion or understandings would be helpful.

This system variable is used to scale AM Symbols & texts. Below is a screnshot of the surface texture symbol controlled by different scales. You wouldn't able to scale these symbols using LTScale.

Hope this clarifies your question.

Thank you for your reply.   I do understand it affects AM symbols.  I'm trying to get the specific list of the Standards symbols or other that this affects.   The reason for the needed detail is that I have reported in the other ticket I referenced and want to make sure I address all that is involved.   It afftects text.   Is that only text used in the Standards or is it changing the current text style, mleader style, quick leader, table style, content library blocks, and etc text?

I was also hopeful to learn if anyone else has report any issues changing this variable.   I was not able to determine this searching discussion, or knowledge base.   In my example it is changing the scale of line types, which I believe is a good thing.  I found what I believe is a problem and have reported.   I posted this addtional note in hopes that it would be on the top of the postings and others might see and comment.

In response to your inquiry, line types are inherently annotative due to the fact that their display is governed by the annotation scale of the drawing.

The AMSYMSCALE will automatically change the CANNOSCALE value.  This is the current design and behavior in AutoCAD Mechanical.  CANNOSCALE, by default, will change the display of the line type after a REGEN.  It will affect all line type displays regardless if it in a block or not.  This is the design and behavior of AutoCAD.

With that said, the display of the line type can be controlled by using the MSLTSCALE system variable.  When this is set to 0, the line types displayed will not be scaled by the annotation scale.  The initial value of this variable is set to 1, where the line types are scaled by the annotation scale.  (http://docs.autodesk.com/AMECH_PP/2014/ENU/files/GUID-023B046C-56EA-463C-A867-DF713666A69E.htm).

There is additional information related to this inquiry that can be found on the following link: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Mechanical-General/AMSYMSCALE-and-LTSCALE/m-p/4317230/thread-i...
