Deriving a legend with areas of hatches and their percentages,

Deriving a legend with areas of hatches and their percentages,

I’m directed to M3D to achieve some simplification for our workflow in producing urban master plan. For the time being, our workflow can be described as below:

  1. The boundary of the urban master plan is defined. This boundary is drawn in line format (screenshot is attached)

 2. The roads network is designed (mainly their tracks and widths). These roads are drawn in line format (screenshot is attached)

3.The zones generated by the roads network are classified (residential, commercial, industrial, etc.) based on the decision of the planners. These zones are identified by hatches where the color of hatches indicates the classification of that zone (screenshot is attached).

4.The very tedious sort of work is constructing a table that contains the total area of each class and its percentage in the total area of the master plan. The area of roads can be obtained from the subtraction of the total area of all zones from the total area of the urban master plan (screenshot is attached).

I’m not sure if there might be a better workflow that can be followed considering capabilities of M3D particularly deriving the table of symbol, area and percentage table.

Thank you

Best

Jamal
