.pdf

Several other design professionals have sent me pdf files from ACAD. I am using ACADlt2005. Is there a way for me to make a pdf file?

Yes, you need to install a driver (similar to adding a printer or plotter), when you want to create a PDF you simply choose the PDF driver instead of a printer and it places the pdf file on your hard drive. Options for pdf creation software range from several hundred to freebies like these.... http://www.cutepdf.com/ http://www.pdf995.com/ -- Chip Harper Autodesk Discussion Group Facilitator http://home.comcast.net/~hot4cad/

Several pdf writers are available. We use the one Chris mentioned above. It works very well.

We use Acrobat 6.0 Pro and Acrobat Distiller 5.0. They work great on letter sizes but some times we have trouble with plan size sheets. It basically acts as if AutoCAD and Acrobat have different definitions of landscape and portrait, and no matter which way we set it, part of the page is cut off. This only happens part of the time, but when it does, we have not found a way to fix it. -- Brad Yarger "Jholt" wrote in message news:5625217.1107380637573.JavaMail.jive@jiveforum2.autodesk.com... > Several pdf writers are available. You will find the freebies noted above have no issue with large size PDF sheet sizes. -- Dean Saadallah Add-on products for LT http://www.pendean.com/lt --

Agreed, Dean. We use PDF995 (free version) Once I figured out how to use it, it works great. I do full size "plots" to pdf all the time. Monochrome and Rendered drawings. I also use other programs like MS Publisher to create large composite drawings. I plot these full size also.
