Mask an area in paper space and cover with something else.

I want to mask/cover something in paper space and put something else instead.

Can I mask an area and then have something else there that shows?

Or perhaps use a viewport that covers what it is over on paper space?

As long as everything is in PS sure ... just place a wipeout over the un-needed object  and place the new object on top of that.

Others will argue about a color 255 hatch rather than wipeout, but whatever you choose it should work.

Be aware of DRAWORDER.

DJ

It worked. I got the draw order to work. But when I printed, the thing I "wiped out" printed??????

I think I got it to work (though I am not sure what I did).

After you do a DRAWORDER you need to regen to see what it did. DRAWORDER does not always do what it is saying it does, A bit temperamental .... heavy on the mental. Sometimes send to back doesn't work so you have to select it with a PLACE BELOW ... or PLACE ABOVE or whatever. Regards, DJ
