License Issue with Computer Upgrade

We have multiple licenses of AutoCad2013 LT with one Serial Number and Product Key.   We have a couple of people who got new computers and failed to deactivate the licenses on their old one.   Those Hard Drives have now been destroyed and they have activated their new machines already.   How do we deactivate the old licenses so that they can be used again?

I would have liked to simply email someone at AutoDesk to ask but the support site is horrible.

Welcome to the Autodesk Forums!

If you are doing nothing more than reinstalling the software on a new machine then you should be able to enter the Serial Number and then re-authorize the seat. Assuming that your S/N is for a multiple seat product.

Autodesk recognizes that new machines are bought and old machines die from time to time and typically allow a couple of installs per seat without having to contact Autodesk.

Charles is right on, as usual.

Licenses are not deactivated really, anyway.  Your multi-seat stand-alone will allow for reactivation up to a certain limit, so you should be fine to redeploy, as mentioned.  You might be able to store them in the cloud on the Online License Transfer Utility if you plan ahead next time.

In any case, go ahead and install and activate over the Internet.  If the system locks you out, then you can get an activation code manually by calling the Autodesk Activation Department (licensing only, not support.)

You can use the online method to activate your license here:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?id=18424632&siteID=123112

Or you can can call Autodesk Product Registration and Authorization:

http://en.autodesk.ca/adsk/servlet/index?siteID=9719649&id=9830778

1-800-551-1490 > Option 1 (English) > Option 1 > (Stand-alone)

Asia / Pacific: 65.6735.5688
Europe / Middle East / Asia: 41.32.723.9595

You will need to provide your serial number and the request code from each individual machine.  They are unique and cannot be reused.

Good Luck!
