Changing short commands

Can you change the commands in Lt 2014. I want to change the copy command (CO) to (C) and make cirlce (CC)?

Thanks,

tool > customize > edit program parameters (acadlt.pgp)

Just follow the format..  Be cautions not to make another alias that uses the same "C" (or whatever).  The last one in the list will override the first one. (eg: C,  *CIRCLE  may be overwridden by C,   *FOO if FOO is in the alias list last)

Regards,

DJ

I'd recommend leaving the stock ones alone and coming up with an unused one, simply because if you're in a drafting office environment, there might be reason to use someone else's PC and vice versa.

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂

Hah!

Or, provide a separate PGP file for each user.

Can you run that by me please? I have AutoCAD LT 2014 and am trying to change the command for double line. It is currently dline. I want to change that and other commands... I don't know what it means to go to tool, customize, acadlt.pgp...

Do you use the ribbon or classic workspace?

I used the ribbon. Manage, Customization, CUI User Interface

On the manage tab, select the edit aliases button. That will open the PGP file. From there change the keyboard shortcuts that you want at the bottom of the file in the user defined section.

Thank you

for your quick reply. It is just what I need to do but there seems to be a problem yet. My command for double line isn't on the list to start. I can type in the command 'dline' and do double lines all day, but I can't find the command for it in the aliases. Can I create my own?

Yes you can create your own,

Just make sure that you don't create one which replaces one that you use.

EG

I have

DL,      *DLINE

Which allows me to do a double line and this is in the USER DEFINED SECTION

However In the main section you will find

DL,         *DATALINK

Which my DL replaces.
