what is up with the undo command in c3d 2013? if i erase a line and zoom out a couple times, i have to hit the undo command like 30-40 times! i know that undo applies to zooming, but it has never been as bad in 13 as it has been in other versions. i almost hate using undo now, but as we all know we need it. any thoughts?
i do have sp1 installed, it took a minute.
i like to be able to undo my zoom. i am just talking about normal commands. i threw the zoom in my description because frankly it doesnt matter what i do it seems as though i have to undo a lot more times than the commands i have put in. i know that when i update grading or a corridor it goes through various commands but, these are simple commands to undo.
I have the same problem. I'm still working with Autodesk on this issue. This is what I have learned. After you have installed all the services packs and hot fixes. Delete the C3D icon your desktop and create a new one. Open C3D, go to options and rebuild all your network connections in the Files tab. Save the profile. If you test out the undo command it works fine. Here is the issue I have seen. If you close C3D and right click on the C3D icon on your desktop and select properties If you rename the target profile name such as from <<C3D_Imperial>> to your new profile this is where things go wrong. When I reopen my C3D everyone looks OK but my UNDO command is back to not working correctly. It will take you like 10 undo to undo a pan or zoom. If you don't rename the target profile on your desktop icon from C3D_Imperial, every time you open C3D, you will have to go into options and set your profile. This can be annoying unless I am missing something. Since I never close my C3D I just leave my target profile the default. I never had this problem in all the past versions but this version has been a pain.
hmm, ok. <easy button> . well, i may have to look into trying this out. thanks for the post TCAR. so, Autodesk is aware that their undo button may go a little crazy sometimes?
This should fix the Undo problem. Right click over your C3D 2013 icon and choose Properties. Look to make sure your Start in: target is as follows: "C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013\"
I believe Autodesk added a folder an extra folder for what ever reason and the acad.exe was not in that folder and caused the Undo issue.
Is this the Undo command from the keyboard. Until you find a solution you might want to use the Undo on the Quick Access toolbar. This will let you highlight all the commands that you want to undo. I usually use the keyboard but this way can be handy for multiple undos.
