Profile text size

I'm trying to create a profile view style and a band style that's text size is dependent on the drawing scale. In LDT you would just set the style and have the height set to 0. In Civil 3D 2007 (I'm not sure about 6) it seems these values are hard. I will have to create styles for every scale. Is there some way to make the profiles text size reflect the drawing scale?

Text sizing in Civil 3D has been discussed in great depth on this board.
A quick search of keywords will return quite a bit of information.

Yes I know text sizing is wonderfull, but when you have to dummy your C3D down so it can be read and plotted in ADT 2006 text sizing in viewports is no help at all. I am still stuck with the same problem as stated above. So if it can't be done then I will have to make styles for every scale.

If you load the object enabled into adt for civil 3d the text will still
resize in the viewports.

As Nick stated, the OE's will assist you with that, negating the need to
"dumb down" anything.

One question remains - why would an ADT user need to be working with
profiles?

That's a good question 🙂
An architectural and engineering firm. We do architectural Design, electrical, structural and civil engineering.
Do you have a link to where the OE is for this. I was under the impression there wasn't one out yet. Thanks

This OE is only for ADT 2007. It doesn't load in ADT 2006. Unfortunately we are still stuck either buying ADT 2007 (which I have no control over) or saving down to 2004. In which case text sizing doesn't work :(.
So here is the work around I have come up with.
1. Create the text scale at 0.125" (or whatever your standards are).
2. Create your profiles and alignments.
3. Make a view port at the scale you need.
4. regenall
5. save drawing
6. explode alignments and profiles through your VP window(this will lock the text size in place)
7. Save as a different name 2004 format.
This is long and tedious but without ADT 2007 or and OE for ADT 2006.....

There will never be an OE for ADT 2006. The OE's are always version
matched. And with the file format change it tosses another roadblock in.
