Civil 3D Users Unite!

It's my pleasure to announce the launch of the new
Online Civil Engineering Community, the central hub for all Civil 3D resources!
We at Autodesk have built this site in the hopes that all of you will use it to
facilitate collaboration and communication as you work with, adopt, and
implement Civil 3D.

If you already have a username and password for any
of the Autodesk Discussion groups, it will work on the community site. You can
login at:

If you don’t have a username, you can quickly sign
up at:

Once you register, take a few minutes to set up a
profile using the “My Profile” link at the top of the site. Your profile allows
you to setup a bio, as well as communicate your specific interests and
hobbies.  It also allows you to connect with other members of the community
who share similar interests.

Here are a few of the key benefits of the
site:

* Peer Network – Build a member profile, find and
communicate with others that have similar interests, and start special interest
discussion groups.

* Tips and Training – Share your knowledge by
submitting tips to the community. Browse the database of tips, detailed
tutorials, training resources, and industry-related articles

* Content Sharing – Upload/download templates,
styles, design standards, reports, custom utilities, and
subassemblies

* Blogs – Read blogs from Civil 3D management as
well as members of the community. Check out Dave Simeone and Dan Philbrick’s new
Blog,  The Dave and Dan Show, as well as one from your’s truly, Wicked Cool
Stuff (please excuse the shameless plug).

* Discussion Groups – Continue to participate in
the Autodesk Civil Engineering Discussion groups which are now integrated into
the community experience

* Events – Search for partner events, user groups,
and Autodesk webcasts from a central location. Participate in scheduled chats
with Autodesk developers and managers.

You’ll see that the discussion groups are now
integrated into the community site. You can continue to participate with the
groups in the same way you are now. But using the community will provide a
richer experience.

Remember, this is your site, and the more you
participate, the bigger and better it will become. So be sure to check back
often, contribute as much as you can, and above all—make it what you
want.

Feel free to contact me if you have any
questions.

Have fun!

Anthony,

Somehow I missed something somewhere! When I log on
I can get to the discussion groups, but when I click around, all I get is stuff
for Autodesk Maya. What am I doing wrong??

When you are logged in, go to the Discussions tab
of the community toolbar.  Then you should see a "customize Discussions
Groups" link to the right.  Select that, and you can pick the ones you want
to see.
