I want to draw a 3D-polyline and wrap it to a surface so that the elevations in the surface aplies to the polyline. With every elevation difference i want a vertrice to be added to the polyline so that it follows the surface perfectly along the polyline length.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Draw a polyline or feature line (if you initially draw a polyline, then convert it to a feature line using: Home>Feature Line>Create Feature line from Objects)
Select the feature line and then on contextual tab, click Edit Elevations, then Elevations From Surface
(The type in command is _AeccFeatureElevsFromSurf)
Ubi maior, minor cessat...
Here's an alternative, working in 'vanilla' Autocad too:
1] explode your solid/surface/everything to a 3Dface level
2] appload the attached lisp
3] run SEZI
4] in plan view, draw a 2D poly across the bunch of 3Dfaces
5] enjoy the draped 3Dpoly
Don't have to convert to a Feature line, this works with 3D polylines as well.
