Within a minute or two of running the program I recieve the below error message, and the program shuts down.
AutoCad 2014 student version Fatal Error unhandled 80000003h exception 1230478ah
Can anyone help?
Thanks
First of all, I need to explain about the fatal error message.
Fatal error occurs in many different reasons.
And usually, fatal error message indicates there was a conflict at certain sector of your hard drive.
So just a message itself is not the magic key for the resolution.
Let me address you for general factors of fatal error, first.
1. Lack of memoryWhen you don't have enough RAM, you may get this error.

2. Invalid drawingThe drawing file may be damaged during your work process.

If you get fatal error regularly, you need to check when it occurs.
For example, "when" some specific program is running together,
"when" you execute some commands, "when" you work with some files..
It helps to find out what causes the problem.

My OS is Windows 8, and I didn't realize I had to turn off my anti viris during install. At first I thought the error was due to a drawing, but I ran the program on it's own and it still shut down within two minutes.
Hey Dean, we're having this issue as well.
The crash comes just as project browser is opening up all of the files. Sometimes it loads all of the files but then immediately if you move the mouse or anything it crashes.
I don't think the anti-virus was disabled when installing on these machines. My question is, will turning off the anti-virus and running a 'Repair' work? Or...should we do a clean install?
Thanks for your help.
Signed,
Dufus who didn't read instructions...LOL
Doh!!
It was hardware acceleration in our case. Turned it off and it has worked fine since. Old issue we should have known.
It is about time that AutoCad addressed this once and for all though isn't it? Jus' say'n.
Thanks everyone!

Well, I spoke too soon. The issue has returned on two of the three machines.
CER_88224974 This is the error report number from my last crash.
In our case it always happens when project browser is loading files.
We really need a solution to this. With the inability to save back in any way without disabling AEC content tools; going back to a working Cad program is not an option.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Autodesk has suggested a new NVidia driver. I have installed it and will get back with the results...

Seemed to work better for a while, but then returned.
Tried several suggestions from this forum, none seem to be a permanent fix.

Mine comes when I use Project Browser to select the project and it loads the Project Navigator files. Within 3-5 seconds after it crashes.
Thanks for any input.

We have unchecked the box to have Project Browser load at start-up. Thus far with three different work stations and 10-15 start-ups we have not had a crash. Pray for us....:-)
