After converting and .dgn file to autocad, the diameter symbols have turned to question marks, and some of the fractional inches turned to f. The text styles are listed as dgn003.shx which is missing? What is the best approach to fix this problem?
Yes, you will need the correct fonts first of all. Also, is there a particular reason they are sending DXF? If they can just senf the DWG, you might also be able to avoid these types of problems.
I haven't had to convert from microstation to acad recently, but I seem to remember the ms user having a rough time correlating the font autocad wanted with what theirs was actually called. If that occurs, have them change it to a true type font on their end, and it should come through just fine.
Yea, we are having a huge problem with that right now. We have received several MS drawings that for some reason have pointed a certain text style to a "shape file" (instead of a font file) - which messes up a lot of stuff.
IOW - we get the message "ggg.shx" is a shape file, not a font file".
I don't know how Microstation is determining that "ggg" should be the font for a textstyle.
