A new problem; I can't join these plines. I have tried just 2, selecting them before entering the command but nothing happens. I need the selected line joined with the one on each end that shares that node.
Solved! Go to Solution.
the selected polyline in your screenshot is already closed, so it can't be joined to any other object.
Open your property window, select the polyline and set "closed" to "no" ==> then try _JOIN again.

I was able to use "Fillet" "Radius" "0" and pick the two to close it.
Not sure why it woudlnt clean up.
I did explode the line you had highlighted, and then was able to join them.
sounds like a philosophical question...
not sure the answer there! I would think it would yield 2 lines on top of each other, but when selected, it's only 1 line.
Fillet is a command to trim two objects together. You can specify a radius, or use it at a 90 degree cut (square).
try this on for size:
>> Why is it closed?
This question has to be forwarded to the one who created it
It was created either with _PEDIT (and mulitple objects with double lines at that position)
>> It's only one line, how can it be closed?
No, it's a line that goes from left to right and a second segment going back from right to left.
What you see is not really how's internally stored.
