just changed from Acad 2008 to 2013 to find perpendicular snaps seem to be broken. I know this has been discussed but only as recently as 2012 with no clear explanation/solution other than "it is being addressed"...
I'm trying to grip select the closed polyline's vertex and apply a perpendicular snap override. Once my cursor passes left of the midpoint grip the implied perpendicular solution flops to an incorrect spot. Since the red line does not exist to the right of the polyline's midpoint grip I'm left with no solution. I know there are plenty of other ways to accomplish the result but I'm just interested in addressing the unintuitive snap behavior. Thanks
Post a DWG, not a screenshot: I can't replicate based on the image.
I was able to. Just needed to draw a line and a closed polyline off to the right of the line.

Confirmed that it is broken in C3D 2013, and that it works as expected in AutoCAD 2010. Have you reported this to Autodesk through some other means than posting here?
Thanks for trying. This is the first place I've mentioned it...looking to see if others really felt this was broken. Is there a particular error reporting channel you would recommend?
