In AutoCAD 2013 when drawing a straight line on the x,y axis lets say first point is at 10,10 and the second point is at 30,10. The program places the second point at 40,20 as if it was adding the first points coordinates onto the second. Is this problem fixable? Thanks.
By default when using Dynamic Input, coordinate entry is relative to the last point, not the absolute coordinate, so what you are experiencing is by design. If you prefer using Absolute coordinates, proceed the coordinate with the # (hash tag), or turn off Dynamic Input, or change the default behavior to "absolute" in DSETTINGS>Dynamic Input>Pointer Input
BTW, there is no difference between Student and Retail versions of Autodesk software other than the license agreement.
