A welcome improvement in AutoCAD 2014 is the "natural sort order" for layers names.
Layers are now displayed using natural ordered sort. For example,the layer names 1, 4, 25, 6, 21, 2, 10 are sorted as 1, 2, 4, 6, 10, 21, 25 instead of 1, 10, 2, 25, 21, 4, 6.
This is similar to the way Windows 7 treats folders containing only numbers, they are sorted by natural order.
Is there a way to automatically set it up by some lisp routine to filter out the XREF layers?
If not, I'll just keep doing what I do now. Open the layer manager, select Xref, and pick "Invert Filter"
I just get annoyed doing it everytime I open/close a drawing.
I use this lisp routine, not one of mine, they didn't put their name in there so I don't know who to credit.
You end up with a filter with ~*|* in the name column for the filter properties.
Great. got the lisp, added it to my startup and paths.
Executed "xrefnot" and it successfully made a layer filter for me.
Q: How do i get autocad to default select this layerfilter when the drawing loads?
This is great. Thank you. Now if I enter the command "xrefnot" it will add the layerstate. if it does exist, it sets it active.
so I did a little research.
into my acaddoc.lsp file so it runs at every drawing opening. but it's giving me an error.
