Please describe or otherwise illustrate the method you are using to "open existing AutoCAD 2014 drawings".
Is this a new phenomenon? Is it only happening with particular files, or all files you open?
What flavor/vertical product (if any), on which OS (Win 7, 8; 32-bit, 64-bit)?
How are you saving your files (as dwg or as dwt)? DWT files are intended to be templates and when opening those, the filename will become drawing1....
A user here was having this same problem. When I went to their desk to see a demonstration of the problem I noticed they were picking the button for NEW instead of OPEN.
I saw something like that when the user tried to open a defect drawing. Autodesk didn't come up with an error message, it ignored the drawing and switched back to "Drawing1".
What happens if you try to open your files with command _RECOVER, are then any errors found, is it then possible to get the file into the editor?
