At one time I used two commands in the express tools. They had to do with freezing and thawing layers. If you were on a current layer (let's say layer 1) you could use the command, freeze all layers, and it would freeze all the layers in the drawing except the one that you were currently on. You did not have to pick each layer separately. When you were done with that, you could use the other command, thaw all layers. Is the available in Autocad 13 or could someone please tell me if I could use this again. Thank You.
Set the layer that you want current, open Layer Properties Manager, right click in white space, select SELECT ALL from the pop up menu, selecct the freeze icon and it will freezse all layers except the current layer.
Since these are commands I use often, I have set up custom command aliases. A trick I use is to enter into the Command Aliases editing box from Express Tools. I changed a single letter alias I don't use to represent LAYISO. I then use that same letter, double tapped, as the alias for UNLAYISO.
My workstation uses "I" as LAYISO and "II" as LAYUNISO. It is quick and I didn't use "I" for INSERT anyway with the button for it on the HOME tab right in the middle of the upper ribbon.
For the Layfrz command the macro is ^c^c_layfrz. Is there a way I can add to that macro to make it freeze all the layers at once instead of picking each layer to freeze individually? I'm thinking I have to add "all" to the end of the macro but I am inexperienced in writing macros and am not sure if I can do this. Thanks for any help.
