Windows 8

Autocad 2013 64bit service packed

Every time I use the drop down menu to select unit to save OR open a file, it freezes and then all the programbecomes not responding (have to force close from windows utility).

Any hint?

Windows 8 is not supported currently: no fix. Read about it HERE.

Change your R2013's hardware acceleration setting and see if that helps.

I have the same issue in Windows 8 with Civil3D 2013. I just installed v2014 and the problem remains exactly the same... I will try completely unistalling and installing again...

The same issue. The froblem began just after installing the service pack 3.

It's annoying, does anyone have the solution?

Hi,

>> The same issue

Do you also have AutoCAD 2013 on Win8?

>> The froblem began just after installing the service pack 3

Please let us also know what you mean by "after installing servicepack 3", I don't know a servicepack 3 for AutoCAD 2013 and I also don't know a servicepack3 for Win8, so what product did you update with a servicepack 3?

I'm working on Win7

A couple of days ago I installed the HotFix3 (Sorry, I didn't realize I wrote Service Pack).

This are HF and SP I already installed:

c3d2013_x64_sp1.0.exe

c3d2013_x64_hf2.0.exe

c3d2013_x64_hf3.0.exe (2 days ago)

Hi,

ok, then it's different to the situation the first poster had (he had AutoCAD 2013 on Win8, you have Civil 3D on Win7) :smileywink:

So we have to start at the beginning:

  - does freeze then mean for a moment or forever? How long have you waited if it becomes responding again?

  - have you tried to uninstall HF3 (as it was running before without an issue)?

  - what dialogs (what commands) brings C3D to frozen state for you?

- alfred -

PS: the Civil3D forum is >>>there<<< (for the next question) :smileywink:
