I want to draw line to import excel data coordiates to autocad ?
Please send the steps / procedure
Make texts comma delimited, Use only XYZ (no point number or description)
Use command: Line, Polyline or 3DPOLY and paste in the texts.
Further to Patchy’s response, which I like, I was thinking of a script file but it is easier to paste the numbers straight into AutoCAD. In the file EXCEL-COORDIATE.txt there is an extra column plus the comma at the end which you don’t need.
The easiest way to remove the first column is to rename the file EXCEL-COORDIATE.txt to EXCEL-COORDIATE.csv. Double click on this file and it will open in Excel. Erase the first column, plus the word Pipe further down the list. You now need to re-join the points, you can use the Excel formula =A1 & "," & B1 & "," & C1 and drag it down this gives you the result below
On the AutoCAD command line type Line and then copy/paste the coordinates into it. You can also copy/paste the results into Notepad and add the word LINE to the top of the list and save it as a script file .scr see attached file Line.txt which you can rename to Line.scr. You can then use the AutoCAD Script command to run this file. If you get unusual results try turning off Osnaps.
