i have in model one drawing, in layout i have 4 viewports, each have different scale, now.. how can i using same model and 1 layout to determine scale of dimentions per each viewport? or all viewports in same layout have same scale of dimention?
use annotative dimension.
In dimension style, you configure this.
Chose scales then you want in your draw. (1:20, 1:50, 1:5). bottom right
Chose a viewport scale - 1:20? Will appear the 1:20 dimension. If you configure to not appear the other scales, they will be off. All dimensions will have standard height, but, eache one with your scale.
You can chose appear every scales in view port too.
It's fantástic! try it!
When you define an annotative dimension style, use a text style that has a height of zero. Then when you select "annotative" for your dimension style, yo can set the height you would like the text to appear to be in paperspace. If done right, you can dimension in paperspace itself, then switch to many differently-scaled viewports "on the fly", and the dimensions will all appear to be identical. I think the best way is to define it first, in paperspace, and then test over and over until all of the elements look exactly the way you want them to be. good luck!
... or if you're not a fan of annotative objects, put a check mark in the box that says "Scale Dimensions to Layout" on the Fit tab of your dimension style, and your dims will always be scalled properly regardless of which view port your working in,
I know it is very late, but I had the same problem just now and figured it out. Go into the options and check the box to make new dimensions associative. I don't know why it unchecked itself, but that worked for me.
