I have a full drawing due on monday which i completly finished and its dimentions are 11x34, but i just found out it needs to be printed on 11x17 paper.... I dont have the time to redraw it or edit it piece by piece, is there any way that i can resize just one dimention of the entier thing at once? I tried to scale it but i keep just resizing the whole thing instead of just the x direction.
To be hoest im not sure, im not the best with auto-cad, but all i know is when i change the scale of the drawing everything changes the same amount so id guess it would be 1 to 1
Let's see if this helps.
I don't know anything about your drawing, but let's make a few assumptions. Let's say it's just a rectangle that's 11" high and 34" wide. Let's also say you've drawn it in model space in architectural units and you've made it 11x34 so it really is 1:1... full scale.
The truth is you could print this on any size paper including 11x17. But you wouldn't be able to print and see all of it at full (1:1) on a piece of 11x17 paper. In fact you wouldn't even be able to see all of it in a viewport set to 1:2 (half) scale. You'd have to get a viewport down to 1:3 scale (I'm using an even number here for simplicity) before all of the rectangle would show up.
You didn't say that your assignment included any scaling restrictions now, did you.
