Hello all. I have a friend who uses AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT. 2011 version. He wants me to get him a printer to do 11X17. My problem is I am not fimiliar with AutoCAD.
Can you tell me what print language it uses? What type of drivers are used? I can set up and maintain printers. I"m just not sure about AutoCAD. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Patchy for responding. So, any printer, reguardless of manufacture, will print using AutoCAD? Say a Brother, HP, Panasonic, etc. ? I am ignorant when it comes to cad. I just wanted to make sure it was not a specific language used, such as Postscript, PCL, or GDI. Hope I'm making sense.
Thanks again Patchy. I feel much better about finding my friend a printer. Of course, loading the driver in Windows is easy. Finding how to configure cad, not sure. I will need to do some searching for this.
I'd leave the config cad part up to the person using Acad...
But there really isn't nothing to configure! Just install the printer driver like you normally would and Acad will be able to see that printer immediately.
It's up to the person using Acad to setup how he wants the prints to come out.
