when you say converting from model space to paper space, what are you doing?
Have you got the viewport set up, and scaled appropriately?
ah, the "Attempting to cancel" problem, not one ive ever found a proper solution for, we get it quite a lot, as i said exportpdf worked for us, sorry it hasnt solved your issue, I've never worked with ECW or SID files.
Hoping you find a solution.
Thank you for your reply. I finally figured out. I checked my layer manager and the layer I was using to draw showed up as a non-plottable layer. I went back and changed all my drawing to the correct layer and was able to save my drawing as a PDF>
unlike BarbM, having the image on the correct layer is not my issue unfortunately (I wish it was cause I could fix that).
I have been in contact with Autodesk Support, they want a sample drawing to see if they can reproduce the same problem, they should be able to figure it out after which I'll post a reply.
I too am having issues with Civil 2012. Mine is the line work. It is covered by the sid image which is connected through the FDO. I've wasted several days and countless sheets of paper trying to find something. I've tried all of the RASTER___ commands and the slider. I've tried sending objects to the back and bringing them to the front. My images plot just fine nice USDA images all nice and crisp and in color. Go to find the line work, the actual meat n tators of the plan. NOTHING! I give up. I've cursed you long enough today Civil '12.

Well, if you are connecting to a MrSID with FDO, then only the Map Workspace Display manager will change it. It's not a 'raster' any more, just an FDO.
You may find it simpler to use the Map Image Insert tool to place it as a georeferenced Raster - then it will be an Acad Raster Image, and you can fade it and change display order with Acad commands.
