I'm new to using the SSM and I'm stuck in confusion. The problem I'm having is with the Custom Properties assigned to the "Sheet." I've converted my titleblock to use all fields; almost all of the custom props belong to the Sheet Set, while a few are owned by Sheet. The ones owned by Sheet are the buggers--they won't update no matter what. I have to (manually) edit the fields, delete the titleblock and re-insert to get the fields to update. Which of course defeats the purpose of using SSM. Sync doesn't work. Update Fields doesn't work. Changing FIELDEVAL doesn't work. Whether it's an imported sheet, a new sheet or a copied sheet, I have to go thru the whole process again. (I'm guessing because those fields that are owned by "Sheet" must be associated to that particular sheet for every sheet in the set) All the fields owned by the Set work perfectly...open Props, make the change, hit REGEN, done.
The reason this is so important is because I routinely work with large DWG sets (150+). And every sheet has a different title that has to be changed. I should be able to use the SSM to make all these changes to the custom properties (without going into every layout, editing, deleting, reinserting...). That's the issue. Otherwise, I'd have to use a Block Table for all sheet titles (which is a work-around solution, and a better option than editing every sheet's attrib.) or, create a ridiculous amount of new custom props (all owned by the Sheet Set) for every sheet title (x2 for two lines). What am I missing here?
