HELP... I have conducted a level survey on site and once I have loaded it in to aurto cad I need to copy them on to a drawing so can tell where abouts the level are in realtion to the site. When I have done this I capy with base point and paste with co ordinates but it comes up tiny compared to the drawing.
Help appreciated guys
It sounds like a scale problem. Are you sure both drawings are using the same drawing units?
Thanks for the reply!
Could you tell me how i could check/change the dimensions from m to mm? Once changed I will see if that was the problem!
I have just changed the units to mm, tried copying my survey onto the construction drawing and its is still zooming in and showing up tiny on the construction drawing?
Any ideas :s
I'm wondering if the copy operation is the problem. Have you tried referencing the level drawing into the construction drawing? Check your insert units first and then try it to see if AutoCAD takes care of the scale problem.
Or you could upload a couple sample files as Patchy suggests. We'd be able to see the problem more completely that way.
Thanks for your help muchly appriciated! However I have managed to get some northings and eastings of the building and car park so have just plotted them on my survey.
However one more thing how do you set a scale to it and to what size its to be printed. at the minute when i got to layout 1 the scale is 0.045310. :s Ideally i would need it to be like 1:100 , 1:250 ect.
Here is the level survey I am trying to plot. I would like it to be A3 if possible.
What are you insunits set to?
The UNITS setting in your drawing should probably be Meters, not Millimeters. INSUNITS should be Meters <6> too.
The full site will fit on an A3 sheet at a 1:20 scale... as long as the title block stuff isn't too big.
