I have set up a second computer for home use. The installation of Building Design Suite Premium is complete and the programs start up and run great......initially. After setting some standard options (save time, right click enter, etc...) and turning off the ribbon, opting for the classic look, I shut it down then went right back into it. Now it stalls for 30-40 seconds nearly everytime I try accessing a tool or menu item. It says (NOT RESPONDING). There is no way I can work like this. My desktop is set up the same way and has not given me a minutes problem. Anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this. Obviously I've done something wrong, I just don't know what.
You could do a couple of things:
a) put he settings back to how they were and see if that resolves the problem and then change them one by one to see which setting is the culprit (if any)
b) START - PROGRAMS - AUTODESK - AutoCAD 2012 - Reset factory settings
c) Unsinstall and reinstall
I realize that this may seem a bit extreme for the last but as you have only just installed it you have litte to lose
Reset to Factory Settings didn't work so I'm going to try Uninstalling/Reinstalling. This will make my 2nd time reinstalling.
I was working through e-mail with installation support but it takes an average of 2 hours to get a response each time. I received a fix for my install problem I was having, now I'm being tranffered to product support for the "Not Reponding" problem. That was yesterday. I really need to get this fixed....people want to know where their drawings are. All in all, using Discussion Groups, Searching this site, Support e-mail and the time of installing/uninstalling I'm running on my 6th day of trying to get this up and running.
Thanks for your help though, I'll run through it one more time. Is it possible that it can't be fixed? It certainly seems possible at the moment.
hey rrr263, Did you ever find a solution to your Not Responding problem? I have had more dead ends in dealing with this than I can recount and the tech support has been absolutely useless.
You state your "desktop" does not have this problem. Does that mean you are installing on a laptop? If so, how do the laptop processor & video card processor specs compare? They may be seriously inferior to what you have on your desktop.
