Thank you for your help, but this is so amazingly ridiculous! The amount of hours wasted, and I have a brand new computer! I don't think there's anything odd about it! I tried to uninstall the Autodesk Content Service, because that seems to be the first program mentioned in the install log that causes trouble with the install. However, my computer refuses to uninstall the program! A dialog box pops up stating the 2738 error, and the VB Script error again!
>> I tried to uninstall the Autodesk Content Service, because that seems to be the first program mentioned
If you look more close to this statement in the log-file you'll see "ignored", so that is not the point that stops the AutoCAD-installation.

If it's bundled with some trial versions of some software then you already have got some products installed.
Do you have a chance to run setup of Windows7 without the prepared setup media from the computers vendor?

I'm not sure If I can run windows 7 without the included software. How would I go about that? I tried to install AutoCAD 2011 again, and for some reason this time it was successful, but it fails to run. It opens, but then when the layout is about to open, it closes. I wonder if it has something to do with the downloaded versions of AutoCAD? Would I have more luck with a store bought, physical copy? Any ideas what this VB script error is that I keep getting? Is there something wrong with my computer, or is the download corrupted? And why can't I successfully choose the install now method for AutoCAD 2013? I disabled my Antivirus / Firewall software! i have had no issues installing or running other software. It is only AutoCAD that has given me so much trouble.

If you have only a vendor OEM-installation DVD it depends how they created the package. Some have the option to start Win7-installation from a specific directory on this DVD, others have packed all together so it's not possible to just install Win7 without the other demo-/marketing-/other addon's as they get paied for that. It's a kind of advertising and imho it's more often a banana skin to have this all installed as it fills the registry with nonesense and makes the pc slow right from the beginning on.
If you have someone who has a OEM-Win7 installation DVD you may try to use this DVD, but with your registration code (hoping you have one and it's not hardcoded in your installation DVD).
Good luck, - alfred -
Thank you, but my computer didn't ship with any cds/dvds. All the software was pre-intstalled. I tried installling AutoCAD 2012 again, and once again got the 2738 and 1603 errors. The 1603 Error is for AutoCAD 2012 itself, and I can't uninstall it because it never successfully installed in the first place. I'm really at a loss as to what do do. Do I just throw my computer away / trade it in and buy a new one? As an Architecture student it is essential that it be able to run AutoCAD.
Thanks again for all your help
