Layer State Issues

Am I missing something, or is there no way to save the VpLayer freeze/thaw
state with the Save/Restore Layer States Manager that is now built into the
Layer Properties Manager? It seems to completely ignore this crucial
setting. There is a check box to enable New VP Frozen/Thawed status(I have
no idea why anyone would use this), but no way that I can find to save
Current Frozen/Thawed status. It seem to me that the Bonus/Express
tool -lman would do this but I was trying to standardize on a "built in"
Autocad tool for better standardization.

Secondly, If I Import an external Layer State File, then restore the layers
to create the new layers, then purge the new layers and then try to
re-restore, the layers are not recreated. It seems to totally ignore the
layers that are saved in the snapshot. The only way I have found to make it
work is to delete the layer state, then re-import and re-restore.

I do appreciate this effort to consolidate new tools into the base product
but I really need this additional functionality.

Dale;

I had a similar problem. Make sure your VISRETAIN setting is set to 1.

Already set to 1. Does yours save VP current
Frozen/Thaw settings with the Layer State Manager when Visretain is set to
1?

you found the flaw that has been there since 2000i: maybe they will fix it
next time around.
