2002 and 2000

Any problems having both installed on the same computer?

Hi, Kirk,

beside the other opinion here, there IS a chance to have bot versiosn
running ...

Acad2000 & Acad2002 will share the same Registry key ONLY if both Acads have
the same language AND the same vertical flavour ....

If you use Acad2000 (Vanilla) & Acad2002 MAP/MDT/LDT (or vice versa), both
Acads
will use DIFFERENT Registry keys.
The other problem are the files from "...\Shared iles\\Autodesk Shared\" :
- after installing Acad 2000's files, simply move all the shared folder's
files into the Acad 2000's root
- then, after installing Acad 2002's files, simply move all the shared
folder's files into the Acad 2002's root

for both Acads, remove the Shared Folder from the support paths setting
("Options/Files/Support files"), if there is an entry ....

There is a more detailled description in this newsgroup (or even in
Acad2002General newsgroup)

good luck

Can't be done, unless you have a dual-booting computer with two operating
systems. 2000 and 2002 have the same file format and share a number of
registry settings, so it's simply not possible to have both running side by
side.

The exception to this is if either version is part of a Desktop application.
E.g., you can run Architectural Desktop 3 (based on AutoCAD 2000) and
AutoCAD 2002 in the same setup.

Thank You, I Have 14 and 2000 running with no problems. That's why I
wondered. I can't think of any advantages to having both anyway. Thanks
again.
