Hello everyone,
this problem is always bothering me since december and I didn't find a solution.
The problem is that ,in both Alias 2013 and 2014,
when I run Alias, and active Diagnostic Shading or Hardward Shading, the look of my surfaces doesn't change, it seems like I have never activated the Diagnostic Shading and Hardward Shading.
It appears yesterday, before that they work perfectly
I guess I have a conflict between Alias and a component Windows, but I do not know exactly which part is it. Do you have any ideas ?
Thank you
Same here
Any light on this issue please?
I´m stuck
Thanks a lot!
I am having the same trouble for last few months ....
There is a temporary solution ...but it works untill you restart...
Copy you alias user preference folder to another location,,,, delete the exisiting and then open the alias.....now replace it with your alias user pref folder(copied one)
If any one has permanent solution to this problem then kindly share .
I used this method for a few times but later i got bored copying .
Hello there Jayshdwivedi
How do I do that? Which foldes shall I copy?
would you mind attaching a photo of the folder´s path please?
By the way, anybody knows when Autodesk would make available the 2015 version. Lets hope soon!
Thanks again
Autozanca
C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\Autodesk\Alias\UserPrefs2014
"Copy this whole folder ".
Save it to ... lets say C:\New Floder
Delete the folder now :- C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\Autodesk\Alias\UserPrefs2014
Now move the folder UserPrefs2014 from "C:\New folder" to "C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\Autodesk\Alias\"
If you still want images then revert.
i had this problem with some nvidia grafics adapters when AntiAliasing in the adapters 3D options was NOT turned OFF.
I also had to turn off hardware anti aliasing in Alias and use software anti aliasing then, which is working very good.
Give it a try...
Regards
Hello again Jay
Tryed it that you sugested and just got worse. Maybe that I didn´t get the right folder or... God knows what???
Cheked the Anti-alias settings as our friend "digiformer" sugested and that didn´t worked either.
The strange thing is: when I first instaled the 2014 version, recently... It was doing just fine. Quick rendering, shading (diagnostic) as I was going through the tuttorials. And then, all of a suden, started being foulty.
Lets hope Autodesk gives some attention to this litle detail. Maybe for the 2015 version it might be already sorted out.
Any ways, thanks a lot for all the help!
Kindly
Luciano
Hello There digiformer
Tryed it but seemed not to make any effective change in the software behaviour
Thanks a lot
Luciano
Hey Digiformer the anti-aliasing doent seems to have any effect on diagnostic shading,
Any one with any other permanent solution??
good point DONEST but that's the very first thing I Checked.
Anyways, I will search for any driver updates and see if its a driver problem
My hardware is way above recommended specs.
Sorry for beeing not responsive for quite a while...didnt find time to answer...
sometimes the geometry itself is the problem. Is it imported from another CAD-system? Did You try the "limit edge length" option?
But usually only a few surfaces of the model should have this shading problem. Just in case you try to shade a shell, the whole shell would be affected if one surface in the shell has problems.
But anyhow the story sounds weird...
It happens to several models? The wire keeps looking just as it is?
"search for any driver updates" tells me that you will go to your video card manufacturer and look for the latest driver. With Alias, it is best to use the certified (by Alias) driver. This is never the latest driver from the video manufacturer. Usually it is much older.
Which video card do you use?
Check if your card is on this list and if you are using the certified driver...
