Weird light in arnold light?

I don't know how to explain it. I want my light to have the same effect as picture render1 has, under wall cabinets. I have used quad light form in both scenes. But for some reasons they act different. In my new scene the light gets weird. It seems more like everything just lights up. I don't get that effect spots have, if it makes sense?

I want the same light effect as render1 has. But when I try to put arnold light quad in my new scene, it acts strange. In render3 I have only a skydome and one quad.

For some reason I have this dark line close to the ceiling, I guess that's where you can see where I have placed the quad. And also I get more noise than what I usually get.

Can anyone help me with this?

Conclusion: Render1 is good, render3 is messed up.

Looking at the two renders, I am slightly confused. The light under the cabinets to me look like you are using spotlights or an IES light. For the living room, I would light that scene using another technique. First, make sure you have portal lights to help the skydome, and then if you need extra light, you can use a quad light behind the camera pointing to the ceiling to have some extra light bouncing around.

You can have noise if lights are super close to surfaces, I guess that is what maybe is happening with your scene.
