Toon shader gets to extreme at long/ complex scenes

Hi,

For my work i render images with the arnold toon shader to get a clear dark outline around my products and ridges. This works good 9/10 times, but when i have a scene that is larger or more complex it goes completely off the rails and starts just filling in my products with only black lines, but so much that my products turn completely black.

Anyone know a solution for this? ive tried switching my F-stop value's but that has not worked with any succes.

Thanks!

-Nick

Unfortunately the line width of the Toon shader is related to the image size, not to the object sizes in the scene. That means they don't become smaller with distance. Reduce line width or increase image resolution. You may also try the utility shader Wireframe. Here line widths get smaller with distance, but this shader renders every edge of any polygon.

OK, it does not get any clearer then that. Sadly the wireframe shader is not for me, since i use imported inventor files and those generate a lot of polygon lines. But thanks for your reply, now i know there is nothing else to do then just spend a lot more time in Photoshop!
