I work alone so it's likely I'm not up to date on some creative studio workflows.
I've been given a file. It has a single object that's to be rendered with 9 different materials. Normally, you'd use a 'Multi/Sub-object' and just change the MatID and render.
1) This studio uses a VRayBlendMtl and Coats. Is this a new and better workflow? I can't figure out what's intended. If I turn "OFF" all the Coats that I don't want, I still don't get the material I leave checked (also leaving the Base checked too). See #4 in my screenshot.
2) I'm surprised I don't know this and I can't find documentation. When there is 'RED' in a material I thought it meant an 'Incompatible' material (see #1). But, in #2, it's a normal and common Chrome VrayMtl. But then in #3, there is a 'RED' box around the swatch. What is that RED Swatch indicating?
