render doesn't match the viewport

Hey Guys,

I have a BIG problem with the look of my render.

One day, when I tried to render my scene - it looked completely different from my viewport. I mean, objects were disoriented and I can't even see all the objects in the scene (on render).

It happens if I render it, with Vray camera, Mental ray, or even if I render a scene without the camera.

So, I guess It has a bug.

I changed Windows, uninstalled 3dsMax - It still happens.

I'll attach a photo of a basic example of the case.

If U know what's wrong with this, PLEASE write!!!

Thank You,
Milana

I don't know why the one wall appears to move.  It would help to have a copy of the file.

You might start by right-clicking Perspective in the viewport window and selecting Show Safe Frames to ensure that the aspect ratio of the viewport and render window are the same.

Did all of that - still the same problem appears.

I'm starting to think that maybe I have bad version of Max or Vray plug- in...I just can't figure It out..

anyway, thank You for trying to help 🙂

This looks vaguely familiar to another topic I saw recently.  The viewport looks fine, but some objects render as if they were located at the origin... I'll look around and see if I can find it again.  That guy had a couple boxes and a teapot, and was just trying out V-Ray.

A student in the school I teach is having the same problem, and we havent't been able to find a solution. 3ds Max 2016 with Vray, the problem happens even with scanline or mental ray. If someone finds a solution please post! Thanks!

I'm having the same issue. Anyone got an idea on that?

I'm using educational version for both 3ds max and Vray. Thank you.

I unlocked the "View to Render" and everything works fine now.
