Physical camera field of view in 3DS Max

Does moving physical camera's target changes field of view?

What can affect FOV appart from focal length and film/sensor setting?

I have created two identical cameras, but moved target of the second one 1000 m away, which aparently resulted in FOV change by 1 degree. Or do I miss something?

I think I found an answer. FOV changes when I change focus distance. And I had Focus/Use target distance checked.

Hi @Anonymous

Thanks for bringing your question to the forums! It looks like you were able to figure out the issue yourself, was there any follow up questions I could help out with regarding the camera in Max?

For those that are viewing this thread, it looks like Ilya unchecked the camera setting Use Target Distance in the Physical Camera properties, under Focus. Here is what that looks like in 3DS Max 2019.2

I hope this helps!
