Import igs format not showing shaded material in viewport and not rendering

hello, i just started working in vray and i have a problem that i am not able to figure it out.

i import a 3d file from solidworks and after importing i try to add material, but when added on object and activate shaded material in viewport , the material dosn't show like it should. it has a plane color.

when i apply the same material on an 3ds max box for example it work perfeclty. the same thing is when i try to render, on the object imported no material just plane color,on the object created inside 3ds material applied perfectly. What can the problem be, and how to fix it? i try chageing display drivers, toggle material color with display color no success.

Your object needs UVW Mapping coordinates.  That tells the software how the map should be applied to the geometry.  The quickest solution would be to add a UVW Map modifier and set it to Box mapping.  If you want to get more advanced, you can try using Unwrap UV modifier.  There are plenty of tutorials online how to unwrap different objects.
